Protein Peanut Butter Balls

Dr H’s Protein Peanut Butter Balls

So these Protein Peanut Butter Balls are my go-to snack especially when I am working to cut out sugar, bread and cookies from my diet. My children love both eating and making them and they are very inexpensive so they are one of my top 10 “Loving Food” recipes.

Protein Peanut Butter Balls from Dr Craig “H” Hindson at Loving Life Chiropractic – the chiropractor Ottawa residents choose for effective long term results.

Quick and easy way to set yourself up through the week with delicious protein snacks to avoid the cookie and sugar snack cravings.

Easy no bake protein peanut butter balls. Ideal as snacks at school, post workout or through the day:

Ingredients:

1 cup large flake oatmeal,

2/3 cup toasted unsweetened coconut flakes

3/4 cup peanut butter (I like the “Naturalia” brand)

1/2 cup ground flaxseed

1-3 tablespoons chia seeds (to taste)

1/3 cup honey

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (or use cocoa nibs to further cut out sugar)

Instructions:

1. Add all the ingredients to a medium bowl and mix with a wooden spoon, or by hand if you like getting messy!

2. Take a table spoon of the mixture in your hand and roll into a ball (or you can use a little press like on the video above).

3. If the balls don’t quite stick together as you would like them use some more honey or peanut butter.

4. If you wish to give your protein peanut butter balls that gourmet look then roll in cocoa powder or flaked coconut.

5. Place on tray and in fridge to give the balls a chance to firm up. After 1 hour transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate (for 2weeks) or freeze (2 months+).

Enjoy!

Hello there, Hi it is Dr. Craig (H) and I’m in the kitchen and today making some snacks that you can eat.

One of the biggest issues we’ve got at the moment is that we are eating way way way too much sugar. So there’s this fantastic energy snack – a protein ball. OK. That you have in the fridge.  Once you’ve made them takes about 15 minutes to prepare them, they’re in the fridge throughout the week so when you feel hungry, sort of grabbing a cookie you grab a protein ball.

So these ones I’ve made these before but this is actually a different recipe. These are protein peanut butter balls okay so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna post the recipe down at the bottom you’ll have that. But basically super, super simple. You throw all the ingredients together.

We’re going to toast some coconut flakes throw them in. Mix it up it makes like a dough. The dough we make into balls. The balls go on the tray. The tray goes into the in the fridge if you want to make them fancy.  The balls which kind of look like dough balls, you can roll them in chocolate powder or cocoa powder or you can roll them in coconut flour or coconut flakes.  Makes it look fantastic like truffles and they taste delicious.

So it really keeps you going throughout the week and you know that when you grabbing some and pop it in your mouth quickly the super nutritious for you. I’ll show you the finished product at the end. I’m cooking with my daughter while she’s doing most of the work to be honest but she doesn’t have a video. Okay thanks very much. See you shortly.

Yeah, so super simple you put together your cup of oatmeal, two thirds of a cup of toasted unsweetened coconut flakes.

1/2 a cup of peanut butter, 1/2 a cup of ground flaxseed, third of a cup of honey, half a cup of mini chocolate chips, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. And then if you like you can add some chia seeds.

To be honest this recipe is so flexible you know just put on a cool protein things that you like in there – nuts and seeds. But that is the original recipe. I’m gonna post that down below so once you mix the ingredients together you leave them to chill in the fridge. And then using a spoon and basically just take a bunch of ingredients and roll them together in a ball. If you’ve got one of these fancy little blue things, this is something you buy in a kitchen store and it’s kind of helps you pop out of these pretty shapes and then you’re gonna end up with a bunch of protein bites like that. And they pop into the fridge you put them in a container.

If you’ve enjoyed this then just go down below and smash the like button and subscribe and share with your friends because this is useful information for everyone to have.

Thanks a lot, take care, bye!
