In this video, I’m going to briefly explain what a breech baby is and giving resources at the end so that you can find out more about having a safer, easier birth.

Hello & Hi!

It is Dr. Craig here from Loving Life Chiropractic. And today, we’re gonna talk about a baby in a breech position.

So when mom is pregnant, baby can be in various positions. If the baby’s head down as usual position in the pelvis, going down with the back face. Now, that’s the usual position for pregnancy.

Now, if you have a breech position, there are three different positions.

• One is a full breech when the legs are crossed in front of the baby and the bum is pointing down.
• The second is a footling when the leg is actually pointing down as well.
• And the third position is the Frank breech position when both legs are up in the air.

Now, not so long ago, a breech birth was not an issue because there was a plenty of training on breech pregnancies. That has now changed and a lot of that training has been lost.

Cesarean section training for breech babies has taken over, which is why a lot of people are interested in chiropractic care, and how chiropractic care can help if baby is in a breech position.

Now, there is a technique called The Webster Technique. It used to, historically, be known as The Webster Breech Turning Technique, but that’s no longer the case because we understand that The Webster Technique can help give faster, easier births when a baby is breech, or anterior facing, or either normal facing position, okay?

Recent research in the JMPT, done by Pistolese, had 112 breach cases. And out of the 112 breach cases, 82% of the cases were corrected using chiropractic care alone, and 92% using chiropractic care combined with some other intervention.
